Key terms in Equips
A quick glossary of the core objects you'll work with.
These are the building blocks of Equips. Understanding them makes the rest of the guides easier to follow.
Glossary
- Equipment: an individual asset you track, such as a unit, appliance, or machine. Every piece of equipment lives at a location.
- Location: a place where equipment lives. Locations can be nested into a hierarchy (property → building → unit).
- Service Request (SR): a report that something needs attention, managed through to completion.
- Org (Organization): your customer account, holding all locations, equipment, users, and requests.
- Schedule: recurring work assigned to equipment or a location (preventive maintenance and routine tasks).
- Costs: the labor, parts, and expenses tracked against requests and equipment.
- Inventory: the consumable parts and supplies you keep on hand.
- Lists: saved, filtered views of your data.
- Work: the technician's home base for assigned and available jobs.
- Capture: the fastest way to add equipment and locations in the field using QR codes.
