Setting Up Multi-Year Recurring Service Requests
Schedule durations are entered in months — convert your years first.
Quick answer: Schedule durations are set in months, not years. To create a schedule that runs for multiple years, enter the equivalent number of months. For example, a 2-year schedule is 24 months.
Why duration is entered in months: The Recurring Service Request scheduler uses months as its unit so you can set precise intervals — including partial years and custom cadences. Because of this, when you want a multi-year schedule, you'll convert your years into months before entering the value.
Months-to-years reference
Use this table to quickly find the right number to enter:

Formula: number of years × 12 = months to enter. (Example: 3 years × 12 = 36 months.)
How to set a multi-year schedule
- Go to Schedules → Create Recurring Service Request.
- In Step 1 – Schedule Configuration, give your schedule a name.
- Under "How often should we create Service Requests?", choose Monthly.
- In the Recurrence Pattern section, find the field that reads "Every ___ month(s)."
- Enter the number of months that matches your desired duration, using the reference table above (e.g., enter 24 for a 2-year schedule).
- Set your Start Date and choose when to trigger (on a specific day of the month, or a relative day such as "the fourth Friday").
- Continue through the remaining steps and save.
Examples
- A service that should recur every 2 years: enter 24 in the "Every ___ month(s)" field.
- A service that should recur every 5 years: enter 60.
- A service that should recur every 18 months (1.5 years): enter 18.
Frequently asked questions
Can I enter the duration in years instead?
Not currently. The field only accepts months, so use the conversion table above. (For example, enter 24 rather than 2.)
What number do I enter for a partial year?
Multiply the whole years by 12 and add the extra months. For example, 2 years and 6 months = (2 × 12) + 6 = 30 months.
